'The Traitors Canada' Season 2: Two more Faithfuls leave mansion as rumours swirl about secret relationship
The Traitors are chilling as Faithfuls go at it in heated roundtable that saw votes split between two contestants
This week marked a tense episode for the second season of The Traitors Canada, promising a cut-throat fall ahead. Following Chris, the first person to be murdered by the Traitors — which includes Neda, Kyra and Michael — came Nichelle, the Mississauga-based former police officer and a Faithful, who declared upon discovering the news she’d been nixed: “Were you that intimated? For real?”
As Melinda said, “We failed that mission, and we banished a Faithful. And I know some people are feeling some type of way.” Indeed, no one more than the viewers at home.
Leaving mouths agape was Gail, who was the last to walk in and had quite a few Faithfuls assuming she was as sure as dead. So why was it Nichelle who met her end so early on? As Kyra said the night before with her fellow Traitors, “She’s too Faithfully.” What that means is anyone’s guess. An ally of Nichelle’s, Michael didn’t agree, while Neda — ever a master reality television player — went along, biding her time.
Back in the real world, Nichelle told Yahoo Canada that it was a little more fun inside. She explained, with a laugh, “How dare they send me back to the chaos of my own house, of four kids and two dogs? I was having a nice vacation with all my new friends!”
Admittedly, she added, she did want more time to socialize with more players and prove herself as a former athlete (including being an amateur boxer for over 20 years) at the physical challenges.
A former officer, too, Nichelle feels confident that’s what had the others feeling “intimidated,” with her presumed ability to weed out liars and, you know, “murderers.” But as a social media personality, she didn’t want to risk lying when coming into the house.
“It really is an amazing game,” she said. But recalling hearing the others felt “no reason” to keep her, she added, “At the end of the day, that's what I have to keep thinking to myself, because I was a bit hurt.”
So, who is she rooting for now that’s she on the outside? Laurie, the kindergarten teacher. Nichelle shared, “I really suspected her, because I thought, ‘What a great cover.’ And then when she wrote her name on the slate, I was like, ‘Nope, she's definitely a kindergarten teacher. OK, next!’”

Traitors Canada recap: Explosive challenge hints at huge secret
No one seemed to have it out more for anyone than Hénoc for Mary Jo. Blabbing relentlessly to his bro allies, he said she not only is “a bad actor” but has a “great poker face” because “she’s L.A., she does this!” Surely, if he’d examined his own logic, Hénoc could’ve poked a few holes there. Still, he told his boys, “If she is not it, you guys can vote for me. And when she says she’s a Traitor, you guys can thank me.”
Mary Jo attempted to make friends with Kevin, hoping to be brought into the bro-fold. Spoiler alert: it did not work.
The challenge saw everyone competing in pairs at a minefield. Over each mine was a statement, either true or false. If it was true, teams had to unearth the mine, collect the gold underneath it and run to place it. If it was false, “run even faster,” warned host Karine Vanasse (this time decked out in a white beret, plastic goggles, a floor-length khaki trench, matching mini-skirt, and white knee-high boots, FYI).
Long story short: in total, the group made $9,000 (with the ultimate total now standing at $29,000), leading Kevin to remind us he’s been a big part of achieving that overall haul in hopes the Traitors will take kindly to him.
Michael also continued to have everyone side-eyeing him; one mine statement hinted that two people are secretly related, setting off rumours; and Hénoc again pushed for Mary Jo to get the axe. To which Kyra said in her confessional, “At this point, why not?”
Ousted Faithful knew her 'bestie' would 'throw her under the bus'
Cut to the week’s round table: despite a confident final plea, Mary Jo handily received the majority of the votes, but unfortunately for everyone else, she revealed that she is indeed a Faithful and not a Traitor. Cut to an utterly breathless Hénoc who, at one point, had said he was “99.99999% sure” she was a Traitor. Sad!
“I knew, through the course of the day, that my bestie Hénoc, who I loved and still love, was going to throw me under the bus,” Mary Jo shared with Yahoo Canada, revealing he’d been “frantic” all day, whispering in Kevin’s ear time and time again, not even meeting her eyes.
She added, “So before we went to the round table, I had to make a decision: did I want to wait for them to come after me and then deal with it, or did I want to blow it up before they did? I decided we have to have some fun, let’s create a ruckus, I’m not going down without a fight. I came into the experience with joy, and I wanted to go out on that level.”
Upon discovering who the real Traitors are, Mary Jo said she was only surprised about Neda, who she’s also rooting for. She shared, “She’s super sweet…but at the round table, the mask came off, and there was power. She’s devious, she’s clever.”
She’s also gunning for Dillon, who was “a blast” to film with, while giving kudos to Gail and Kirkland, whom she may have voted for at the round table, but “we were very close.”
By day, Mary Jo runs her podcast Senior Bitches, which sees her travelling the world and interviewing women over 50, sharing how glam life can be at any age. In fact, it’s what propelled her to join The Traitors, and has made it all worth it.
“I wanted to go on the show and prove that, at any age, you can do anything,” she said. “Have no fear. Do things that scare the crap out of you, embrace it. I’m having a great time.”
