TikTok star, 19, dies after he and date are gunned down at movie

A TikTok star has died after he and his date were gunned down in a cinema.

Anthony Barajas, 19, was on a first date with Rylee Goodrich, 18, at a cinema in California on Monday when both were shot, New York Post reports.

Mr Barajas was shot in the eye while his Rylee suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene. The pair watching the film The Forever Purge.

The 19-year-old initially survived but was pronounced dead by the Corona Police Department on Saturday. He had been on life support since the shooting.

Police said Joseph Jimenez, 20, has been arrested in relation to the attack.

“Based on statements obtained, there is no known motive and it appears to be an unprovoked attack,” police said.

“Jimenez was booked on charges of murder, attempted murder, and robbery.”

The robbery charge relates to an item found at Jimenez’s home, which MailOnline reported is Ms Goodrich’s wallet.

Jimenez is being held on US$2million bail.

David Goodrich, Ms Goodrich’s dad, told MailOnline his daughter was excited about her date.

“I could tell she really, really liked this boy. And he really, really liked her,” he said.

Mr Barajas has more than 970,00 followers on TikTok.

Most of his videos focused on everyday life, pranks on friends and relationship advice.
