This TikTok Hack Shows You How To Clean Your Food-Stained Plastic Containers
If TikTok hasn't blown your mind at least once over the last few months then what are you even doing?? The app is full of cooking tips and kitchen advice from the most effective way to squeeze lemons to how to properly wash your fruit, and now there's a simple solution for cleaning out any residual oily stains inside your food containers.
Greasy food containers can be a hassle because there's just some grime a dish sponge can't get through. Even the dishwasher can have trouble getting all that grease out, but you want to make sure each container is totally clean before you use it to store something else. That's where this hack from @adikempler comes in, and everything you need for it is already sitting around your kitchen.
All you have to do is add in a few pumps of dish soap, fill your container up about halfway with warm water, and then throw in a couple ripped up pieces of paper towel. Close the container then shake it with all of these contents inside for up to a minute, and when you rinse out all the suds the grease and stains will be long gone.
The container used in the TikTok has a bit of a red tint and greasy stain, and once it was shaken over the sink and rinsed out it looked good as new. It's unclear why exactly the pieces of paper towel are so critical, but they probably help rub off the grease from the bottom with every shake. Either way, the TikTok makes a very convincing argument, so don't might be while I shake up all of my Tupperware!
