A Lotto shop employee who tried to cash an Instant Kiwi ticket worth $100,000 has been remanded on bail after appearing in court.

Ivy Marie Rolleston, 43, of Hoon Hay, appeared in Christchurch District Court on Friday.

She was released on bail with the condition that she is not to go into the BP Mairehau where she worked, the Christchurch Court News website reported.

Rolleston allegedly tried to claim the $100,000 prize through a third party, but the money was not paid out.

She has been charged with dishonestly attempting to use a document.

Rolleston is also facing four theft charges for failing to account for New Zealand Lotteries property.

She has not entered pleas and will reappear in court on April 27.
