Missing Torbay woman may still be alive: expert
A survival expert says it's possible missing Torbay woman Pat Wearn could be alive as search parties continue to look for her.
The 73-year-old, who has Alzheimer's, is physically fit and could be expected to survive despite likely being dehydrated and disoriented, according to a doctor working with police.
Mrs Wearn was last seen heading out for her regular walk at around midday on Monday.
The alarm was raised when she did not return home.

"There is still hope, and we need everyone in the Torbay, Browns Bay and Long Bay areas to continue to check their properties," North Shore police Inspector Sunny Patel said on Thursday.
"Even if you've already done this, please do it again."
Defence force personnel have joined the search parties, which already include Police Search and Rescue and LandSAR volunteers.

More than 90 people were involved by Thursday.
Searches of bush areas round Lonely Track Road, East Coast Road and Glenvar Road are expected to continue into the night.
Members of the National Police Dive Squad arrived on Wednesday and searched 10 waterways and ponds without any sign of Mrs Wearn.
Extended bush searches are expected to continue at first light on Friday, as well as door-to-door canvassing.
Police say they're still receiving reports of sightings and are urge people to report information immediately.
