Man missing in Waikato River in Hamilton

Search teams are combing the Waikato River as they look for a man who went missing overnight.

Police received a call around 3.10am on Wednesday saying the 21-year-old had been seen entering the river near Grantham Street in Hamilton.

A police boat launched soon after but failed to locate the man.

Search and rescue teams are now back out searching for him.
