Footage has captured the moment young daredevils jumped from a moving train into the Ngaruawahia River before one hides from the police.
Hamilton man Simon Howe posted a video up to social media which shows one boy jumping from the train, while another hides from police on top of the bridge.
In the video, one boy is seen lying dead-still on the train bridge's railing, as two police officers walk across the bridge beneath him.
According to Howe, one train had to stop for 10 kids to get out of its way.
Despite Howe's concern, people too to the social media page Kiwi Az Bro to show their lack of regard and supported the boys and their stunt.
"yup, we don't give a f***... it's our own risk, that's how we do it in Ngaraz", one person wrote on Facebook.
One man behind the camera calls the boy a "cheeky little s***" before he bursts into laughter.
Howe told One News he had fears for some of the children who jump off the bridge.
"This is nothing new. The people here are used to it, but there's a bit of concern for some kids who hop onto that bridge; some of them are five or six years old," he says.
The video has been viewed more than 37,000 times since it was posted up around 1pm on Monday.
