Amber was among the cohort that were reported to be leaving the ITVBe show, alongside boyfriend Chris Clark and Mike Hassini.
However, in a new interview, she praised TOWIE and actually hinted that a lack of drama between her and Chris was behind her decision to leave.
"We had a meeting and it was a mutual feeling that it was time to move on. I've got nothing but respect for the cast and crew," Amber told The Sun Online.
"Chris and I are in a really good place. We all come to a time in our lives when you're looking for what is coming next.
"I'll miss the people on the show, I have genuine friends on TOWIE. Like Tommy and Georgia - they're my genuine friends. I'll miss seeing them on screen but I see them all the time anyway.
She added: "In fact, there's nothing I won't NOT miss, but I'm looking forward to what's coming next. Because I'm still in the circle [of friends], there will always be drama and I'll hear all about it. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds."
However, it sounds like she's probably not leaving forever, as Amber did tease that she could return at some point in the future.
"That door isn't closed forever - there is room to go back but for now it's not for us," she said. "It wasn't awkward and there are no hard feelings.
"Everything is great with Jon [Clark] too. I've left on a high and there's no bad feelings."
The Only Way is Essex will return later this year on ITVBe.
