Even though restaurants and pubs are now open for outdoor dining, we're still planning to host gatherings in our gardens this summer, as our eyes have been opened to the joys of making use of our outside space.
It's fuss-free hosting, as all you need are a couple bottles of wine, crisps, dips and (if you're feeling particularly healthy) some carrot batons, and you can natter long into the night.
The only problem is the light, because though the evenings are now longer, we're not ready to close up shop by the time the sun sets.
So, we've been keeping our eyes open for a set of brilliant garden lights that are both affordable and easy to use.
Why we rate them:
Firstly, we love a product that looks much more expensive than it actually is, and these lights tick that box.
Plus, the fact that they're solar powered makes them easy to set-up (and move if the mood takes you), and they need zero maintenance once in the ground.
The pattern creates an interesting feature across the garden, as well as it keeping it light.
What the reviews say:
"Absolutely beautiful. The garden looks amazing in the night. Very good material and easy to assemble."
"Great solar lights, absolutely delighted with them and they look fantastic, it's been raining and really dull and they're so bright at night and just look fantastic."
"Easy to assemble. Worked the first night, even though they were only put out mid-afternoon. They light up the steps onto the garden and a dark path pretty well. Am impressed."
"These solar lights are easy to assemble and to plant into the ground. They are well worth the money and look great in the day time but fantastic at night. Would highly recommend. They were so good I purchased another six."
