Travis Kelce Says He 'Owes' Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson After They Told Taylor Swift to Date Him
The Kansas City Chiefs star thanked the NFL broadcasters for putting a good word in about him — in August — on their podcast
Travis Kelce is thanking Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson for his rumored relationship with Taylor Swift.
On an episode of their podcast Calm Down with Erin and Charissa from early August that they reposted Sunday, the NFL broadcasters made the case that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and pop superstar should date.
“Taylor, I don’t know what you are doing in your life right now besides rocking the world,” Andrews, 45, said. “Please try our friend Travis. He is fantastic.”
She added, “This is one Taylor, I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy. Do it for America.”

Thompson, 41, then agreed. “Do it for yourself, do it for us and do it for the people because there is no one that would give you a better time than this guy.”
In response to the clip on Instagram, Kelce credited the duo for any role they may have played in him making the catch.

“😂😂 You two are something else!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻” the 33-year-old wrote Sunday. “I owe you big time!!”
In July, the NFL star first floated the idea that he was interested in Swift, 33.
After attending her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City, Missouri, the tight end spoke about the experience on his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce — and said he had hoped to meet her and exchange phone numbers.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” he said on the podcast.
"I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis explained, adding that he was “a little butthurt” that his initial plan did not work out.
The couple eventually ended up connecting, with Swift attending Chiefs games in Kansas City — where the duo was spotted together at an after-party — and most recently at the Chiefs-Jets game in New Jersey on Sunday.
Swift and Kelce are "still just getting to know each other," a source told PEOPLE after Sunday night's game. "It's nothing too serious."
