'Unsafe Passage' documentary preview

A short preview of the "Unsafe Passage" 27-minute documentary, which is based on a 5-week at-sea embed on a Doctors Without Borders ship conducting the rescue of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Italy, just outside Libyan waters. The video captures multiple rescues, the threats received from the Libyan Coast Guard, shots of the new multi-million IAI Heron drone the EU now has operating over the Med, and the chaos and tension aboard the packed vessel as it seeks to find a port to return the migrants.

- Europe has spent hundreds of millions of dollars since 2015 to police this newly created southern border. Portions of this investment have gone to rebuild and retrain the Libyan Coast Guard, which has been tasked with catching migrants moving north from West Africa. But those millions have also gone to help prop up the operation of what has become a modern-day gulag of prisons in Libya, where the captured migrants are sent.
