Usher paid former lover ‘$1.1 million for giving her herpes’
Usher reportedly was forced to fork out $1.1 million USD to a woman he was involved with after she filed court documents stating she got herpes from him.
Court papers were obtained and published by Radar Online and claim that he was first “exposed” to the sexually transmitted disease (STD) around 2009 or 2010, around the time he split from ex-wife Tameka Foster.
There is absolutely no suggestion that she has the virus in any way.
The publication also says the documents state that the 38-year-old singer had unprotected sex, failing to disclose he carried the virus.
Usher allegedly was identified by doctors as a “asymptomatic carrier” of the virus and didn’t show any symptoms he had the disease apart from on one occasion, the papers published by the online outlet claim.
The documents apparently also detail that the Grammy award-winning singer did have initial concerns which he shared with his former lover but then said his STD examination was negative and they went on to have more unprotected sex.
Radar reports the papers filed accuse Usher of “consciously and purposefully” withholding information about his sexual health from the woman.
The star reportedly covered the medical bills for the woman and he apologised “in a series of telephone conversations” and told his former lover “he would take care of things”.
The woman reportedly “feels that her health and body have been ruined” and she “has suffered severe emotional distress and has been extremely depressed…knowing there is no cure”.

The lawsuit was apparently settled at the end of 2012.
Usher is currently married to Grace Miguel, the couple having tied the knot in 2015.
