Vic man in custody over lawyer murder

A man accused of the 2016 murder of criminal lawyer Joe Acquaro has refused to face a Melbourne court.

Vincenzo Crupi, 69, is charged with one count of murder after he allegedly gunned down the 54-year-old outside a Brunswick East cafe on March 15, 2016.

Crupi's lawyer told Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday his client, who was remanded in custody to reappear by video link on March 18, needed to see a doctor for "minor medical issues".
