WA minimum wage to increase by $18 a week

Western Australia's lowest-paid workers will get an $18-a-week raise from July 1.

The state's Industrial Relations Commission adjusted the WA minimum wage to $726.90 a week on Wednesday.

The McGowan Labor government has welcomed the decision but Unions WA says it is disappointed because it wanted a $50 increase and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also not happy, saying the increase is unaffordable for employers.
