Is there a post-credits scene in One Piece?Netflix

We don't know about you, but we have raced through Netflix's adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga cartoon One Piece. The eight-part series dropped yesterday (31st August) and we are obsessed.

For those not in the know, One Piece tells the story of the Straw Hat Pirates, led by their captain Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), who go on a quest in search of the "one piece" treasure that will led Luffy to eventually become the King of Pirates. He's joined by a crew of unique individuals who also all have their own goals and dreams of ruling the seas.

After eight episodes of adventures, intense battles and countless obstacles standing in their way of reaching the treasure, the series ended on a hopeful note for the Straw Hats, but is that the last we've seen of them? Or is there a secret post-credits scene we weren't aware of? Here's what you need to know.

Is there a One Piece post-credits scene?

It's the question we all want answering and it turns out the answer is a little complicated depending on your definition of a "post-credits scene".

In the final scene of One Piece we see the Straw Hats agree to continue on with their quest and the title cards roll on.

However, before the credits start to roll the show cuts to a dark and mysterious scene which sees a hazy smoke arise. We see a man with white hair smoking a cigar and staring at a 'Wanted' poster of Luffy. He then proceeds to burn a hole in Luffy's eye (charming) and the scene ends there and the credits begin, with no further scenes shown.

So no, One Piece doesn't technically have a post-credits scene, but it does have a post-titles card scene if that counts?

Who is the man in the final scene of One Piece?

Fans of the original manga cartoon, will be all too familiar with the man in the final scene. Despite not seeing his face, the man's white hair and fur-trimmed coat is synonymous with the character of Smoker.

For those who haven't read the original series, Smoker is a powerful marine who is not at all a fan of pirates. He has a special skill of being able to transform into pure smoke, which means it's going to be very difficult for the Straw Hats to fight against him if season two goes ahead.

Ok, we're definitely going to need another season.
