'Diana was one of the naughtiest parents'
As a princess, humaniatrian and influential public figure, Diana meant many things to different people, but to her sons Princes William and Harry, she was just mum - and a rather cheeky one at that.
The now grown up royals open up about their late mother in the emotional first trailer for Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, a documentary premiering later this month.
In it they reveal how the Princess of Wales wasn't as rule-bound as the rest of the family - leading them to brand her the "naughty" parent.
“She was very informal and really enjoyed the laughter and the fun,” William recalls. “She understood that there was a real life outside of Palace walls.”
"She was one of the naughtiest parents," adds Harry.
“This is the first time that the two of us have ever spoken about her as a mother,” he goes on to say.
"She was our mum. She still is our mum. And of course, as a son I would say this, she was the best mum in the world. She smothered us with love, that’s for sure."
The short promo shows Harry and his 35-year-old brother leafing through a treasured family album, revealing never-before-seen photos of the two boys with their mother.
A particularly cute moment is when William holds up a snapshot of himself as a toddler being held by a pregnant Diana.
"Believe it or not, you and I are both in this photograph, you’re in the tummy!” he says to his little brother.

The documentary will pay tribute to the beloved Diana and mark the 20th anniversary of her death. She was just 36 when she was involved in a horror car crash in August 1997.
It will also feature recollections and anecdotes from other people close to her, some of whom have never spoken publicly about her until now.
