Singapore Premier League (SPL) club Albirex Niigata (Singapore) have signed former Japanese international striker Tadanari Lee on a one-year deal for the 2022 season.

Lee, 36, has 11 senior caps for Japan and memorably scored their winning goal against Australia in the 2011 Asian Cup final. He has also played with English club Southampton when they were in the second-tier Championship in 2012/13.

In Japan, he has scored over 100 goals for six clubs, and won the AFC Champions League with Urawa Red Diamonds in 2017 and the J1 League title with Yokohama F. Marinos in 2019. He last played for newly-promoted Kyogo Sanga this year.

Dante Chen chalks up third straight win in WWE

Singapore wrestler Dante Chen stayed unbeaten in the elite professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), chalking up his third straight win as he defeated Draco Anthony in the company's 205 Live program on Friday (31 December).

The 25-year-old - whose real name is Sean Tan - was sidelined for about three months with a knee injury following his last WWE appearance on 205 Live on 1 October. On his return to action, he defeated Anthony with his unique sit-out manoeuvre, which the commentator dubbed “Dante’s Inferno".

Chen made his debut in September on WWE's NXT program, becoming the first Singaporean wrestler to be featured in a televised WWE program.
