Dear White People S4 (22nd)
The fourth and final season of the show will hopefully go out with a bang. Strong characters, topical issues and loads of social commentary are likely to be explored.
Monsters Inside: The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan (22nd)
Hard-hitting true crime documentary about serial rapist Billy Milligan who blamed his crimes on multiple personalities which set off a legal case that captivated America and the rest of the world.
Intrusion (22nd)
Edge of your seat thriller that begins with a home invasion and only gets darker, and more dangerous, from there. Stars Freida Pinto and Logan Marshall-Green aka “no, that’s not Tom Hardy, he’s the other one.”
Hating Peter Tatchell (22nd)
Fascinating documentary about human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and the many acts of civil disobedience he committed in the fight for equality. A must watch for those interested in true LGBTQ+ stories.

Jailbirds: New Orleans (24th)
It’s the real life Orange is the New Black, with a frank (and occasionally quite trashy, tbh) look at life in a women’s prison in New Orleans. Expect feuds, flirtations and fewer pillow fights than late night movies from the 1990s would have us believe.
PICK OF THE WEEK
Midnight Mass (24th)
Mike Flanagan - the superb director of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor - drops his latest horror series and it looks like an absolute corker. An isolated community is thrown into chaos by the arrival of a disgraced young man and a charismatic priest. Spooky shenanigans guaranteed!
The Starling (24th)
Heartfelt drama flick here, starring Melissa McCarthy as a woman recovering from a personal tragedy and forming an unlikely bond with a bird. Chris O’Dowd also stars in this story of avian assisted catharsis.
STAN
Pacific Rim (21st)
While this may not be the greatest film ever made, it does include: superb direction from Guillermo del Toro, big robots, big monsters, big robots fighting big monsters and Charlie Hunnam. Also some impressively bad Aussie accents. Enjoy!
Youngers S1+2 (21st)
British comedy series about some ambitious youngsters who form a band that becomes the next big thing on the urban music scene. Of course, that’s when life really starts to get complicated.
Trigonometry S1 (23rd)
No, it’s not a show about the maths you barely understood in high school, but rather a somewhat steamy tale of a happy couple who take in a lodger who turns their “two” into a “three”. This is well made, quality drama right here.
The Town (26th)
Ben Affleck cops a lot of flak for, well, a whole host of reasons to be honest but this crime thriller, both directed and starring the bloke, is well worth your time. Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively also star.
BINGE
30 Coins S1 (20th)
Absolutely nutty Spanish language horror yarn that involves vengeful priests, monsters, demons aplenty and gore galore. Stylish and engaging, this one is for open-minded genre fans in the mood for something a little different.
Doom Patrol S3 Eps 1-3 (23rd)
The weirdest superhero team around is back, with more zany adventures and genuinely bizarre enemies. Brendan Fraser (as Robotman) leads a superb cast of misfits in this odd but utterly addictive, somewhat sweary, adventure.
My Best Friend’s Wedding (26th)
Re-watch this classic rom com, enjoy the music and banter and remind yourself of how much of a terrible person Julia Roberts is in this flick! Aussie director PJ Hogan’s follow-up to Muriel’s Wedding, and well worth your time.
Amazon Prime Video
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 (21st)
Kid-friendly animation that, you know what, is actually pretty good for adults too. The superb voice cast - that includes Anna Faris, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Will Forte - certainly doesn’t hurt.
Birds of Paradise (24th)
Two ballet dancers compete for a position at the Parisian Opera. Based on the novel Bright Burning Stars, this also features Angelina Jolie. Expect lots of dance, shrieking and beautiful scenery.
Inglourious Basterds (26th)
One of Quentin Tarantino’s best films that takes us on an alternate history tour of WWII where things ended a little differently. Boasts an all-star cast including Christoph Waltz, Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger. Probs don’t watch with your nan, though.
DISNEY+
Star Wars: Visions (22nd)
Interesting experiment where a bunch of Japanese animation studios were asked to bring their take on Star Wars. Looks to be a visually very exciting take on a galaxy far, far away.
A Spark Story (24th)
Feature length documentary about Pixar’s SparkShorts filmmaking process, with a focus on some of the artists who brought them to life. This is a must-watch for animation fans who want to get a sense of what goes on behind the scenes.
