Woman, 22, crushed to death in freak driveway accident

A young South Australia woman has died in a freak accident in her own driveway.

Breanna Jones, 22, had only just moved into a home with her boyfriend of two years when she became trapped under a Holden SUV last Thursday night and died.

SA Police said it appears as though the car, which was parked on the steep driveway in Happy Valley in Adelaide, had rolled back and struck Breanna. She died at the scene.

A relative told the Adelaide Advertiser the 22-year-old had been moving the SUV but apparently got out of the car without realising the electronic handbrake was not engaged.

Friends and family members have since gathered at the home to mourn the young woman, whose dad told Daily Mail Australia she worked as a bakery manager for Woolworths.

"She had all the time in the world for other people," Daniel Jones told Daily Mail.

"Quite often she would get home a few hours late from work and you would find out it was because one of her co-workers was having a hard time, so she had stayed to chat with them.

"Her passion for other people, it was never too much. I know people say that a lot about their loved ones — but that was who she was."

Breanna’s heartbroken partner, who she met through her job, told the Adelaide advertiser "she was perfect in every way".

'Heartbreak, grief and shock'

A GoFundMe has been created to help Breanna’s family cover the unexpected funeral costs.

"Words seem too inadequate to express the heartbreak, grief and shock of losing Breanna to a tragic car accident at her home on Thursday evening," the fundraiser’s organiser Brad Richmond wrote.

"Breanna was a cheeky, fun loving, caring and beautiful woman who had her whole life ahead of her and loved by all.

"Breanna's presence was such a blessing to the world and her memory will continue to touch the lives of so many people.”

Mr Richmond said Breanna was a daughter, sister and an auntie.

"Her unexpected passing has been devastating for her family and countless friends throughout our community both here in Australia and overseas," he said.

Sister pays tribute to 22-year-old

One of the 22-year-old’s four sisters, Abby, has posted a tribute to her online, the Adelaide Advertiser reports.

"You were 22, you had your whole life ahead of you, and such wonderful, happy plans," she said.

"My sweet little baby sister, full of love and compassion for everyone around you, not a nasty or selfish bone in your body."

Relatives have previously said they hoped her sudden death was just a "horrible nightmare".

SA Police told Yahoo News Australia the matter will be left to the state coroner.
