Woman airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Guelph
A woman has been airlifted to a Hamilton hospital after being hit by a car in Guelph, Ont., Thursday morning.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was walking on Woolwich Street between Speedvale Avenue W. and Verney Street when she was hit.
The Guelph Police Service says the emergency call came in at 5:10 a.m. and the driver involved remained on scene.
Police say the woman was walking on the road while wearing dark clothing when she was struck by the car. The driver co-operated with investigators and was not injured.
Police closed a portion of Woolwich Street for several hours on Thursday morning as a part of their investigation.
The woman was taken to Hamilton General Hospital's trauma centre in critical condition.
