Woman hospitalized after being struck by GO train on platform

A 46-year-old woman is in life-threatening condition after being struck by a GO train on a platform in Etobicoke Tuesday morning.

In a news release issued Wednesday, Toronto police said the incident happened around 8:15 a.m. at Long Branch GO Station.

The woman was walking near the edge of the platform when she was struck by an express train travelling on the Lakeshore West line, which was bypassing the station, according to the news release.

The woman was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition, police said.
