Woman's death deemed a homicide

The Ottawa police homicide unit is investigating after a woman's body was found in a home in the city's west end earlier this week.

Officers discovered the woman's body in a home on Woodroffe Avenue between Baseline Road and Iris Street shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

On Thursday, police announced her death is considered a homicide.

Police sources have told CBC News that the victim was related to the suspect.

No arrest has been announced.

Police said Thursday afternoon they're still in the process of notifying next of kin.
