Chemical explosion blasts through east China, six months after another deadly warehouse fire

There have been no immediate reports of any injured or dead as a result.
The blast comes after the northern city of Tianjin was hit by an explosion and fire at a chemical warehouse last October, two months after blasts at another chemical storage depot in the city killed 173 people.
In August 2015 an explosion at a Jiangsu factory storing combustible chemicals killed at least 68 people and injured almost 200.
The tragic incident, hailed one of China’s worst industrial accidents, occurred less than 1km away from residential apartments.
Earlier this week, hundreds of Chinese students in separate schools had reportedly fallen ill after classroom exposure to toxic fumes from nearby chemical plants.
An industrial park housing dozens of chemical plants in eastern China were ordered to suspend operations on Wednesday after children reported nosebleeds and itching, the South China Morning Post reported.
This report comes after authorities were to relocate 10 chemical plants found to be too close to residential areas, the newspaper reported in February.
The Work Safety Bureau of Tianjin’s Binhai New Area reportedly found problems at 85 of its 583 chemical companies.
