‘So savage’: Chinese mother bashed by violent smoker
CCTV footage has captured the disturbing moment a stranger began violently beating a mother in a lift in China after she asked him to stop smoking his cigarette.
Filmed in a Langfang apartment complex, the man in the business suit could be seen smoking before lashing out at the woman, known as Ms Li, with his right hand as her terrified child cowered in the corner.
"It’s best if you don’t smoke inside the elevator. You can do it in the hallways,” Ms Li said to the smoker before he erupted.
He then launched a tirade of slaps and punches, leaving the mother dazed and confused.
“I’ve never met someone so savage," she said following attack
He attempted to escape the elevator momentarily, but not before throwing multiple punches as the mother struggled to maintain her balance.
Clearly injured, the mother stumbled out of the lift, while the child is left behind when the doors close.
The video quickly went viral in China, with social media users identifying the disrespect and mistreatment women are being forced to endure in their country.
