“My 600-Lb. Life” Stars Struggle to Stay on Their Feet in Season 12 Teaser: 'The Pain Is Excruciating' (Exclusive)
Season 12 of ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ premieres Wednesday, March 6 at 8 p.m.
My 600-Lb. Life is back for season 12, documenting the experiences of seven morbidly obese patients as they strive to lose weight in an effort to reclaim — and save — their lives.
Each episode follows the weight-related struggles of a different individual as they get candid about their food addictions, the resulting health problems and their desire for a healthier life.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip, Abi reveals his weight has gotten so bad that he has been bedridden for seven years. Meanwhile, Charles admits, “The pain is excruciating. I ain’t got much of a life left.”
“My comfort is food,” Rose says while another star adds, “The only thing that makes me feel better is when I eat until it physically hurts.”
“William is like a crashing plane. You can’t stop it. It’s heartbreaking to look at it,” his mother says as the trailer shows William eating two pizzas with chips laid on top.

“I need someone to help me. I’m ready to change my life,” another patient adds.
With the help of their loved ones and Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, a Houston-based bariatric surgeon, the subjects take on the difficult challenge of making major diet and lifestyle changes to lose enough weight for gastric bypass surgery.
“If I don’t stop eating, I’m gonna have a heart attack and die,” Deshaun says.
The new season will also see high emotions as some patients clash with the life-saving advice Nowzaradan has to offer.
“This is the chance of a lifetime so I'm gonna make the most of it,” Jonathan insists.
“I don’t care that he’s a big guy, but I want him to be alive,” his partner says in tears.
Watch the season 12 premiere of My 600-Lb. Life, Wednesday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC and discovery+.
