90 Day Fiancé mom Debbie Johnson is living it up in Canada with new love Tony — with or without son Colt Johnson.

The longtime Las Vegas resident gave a life update on Monday night’s episode of 90 Day Diaries, confirming she’s been living abroad with Tony for the past year. The distance has put some strain on her mother-son relationship with Colt, but nothing as severe as their past years. In fact, Debbie sees the lack of communication as a positive.

“Colt and I have had some challenges in our relationship,” Debbie acknowledged. “We had a really bad fight a couple of years ago when I first started dating Tony. At the last tell-all, we were able to work things out, so everything has OK okay since.”

Now, their relationship is mostly via text. “Colt and I communicate three or four times a week, mainly in text,” she continued. “Sometimes we’ll call. But, I think it’s probably a good thing to have the separation, and we’re good with that.”

As for her relationship with Tony, Debbie and her man celebrated their one-year anniversary with an on-camera yoga class. After the session, Tony said of their living arrangement: “We seem to be cohabitating OK. There’s the odd difference of opinion, I guess, periodically.”

“Wow, you sound like it’s very negative all of a sudden,” Debbie said, calling the living together “an adjustment.”

She admitted, “It’s something a lot of older people don’t want to do. They’re afraid to make a big change like that. It’s scary, and you don’t know — what if something happens?”

Fans of the 90 Day franchise have watched for years as Debbie and Colt’s ultra-close relationship has been a deal-breaker in his relationships, including first wife Larissa Dos Santos Lima and second wife Vanessa Guerra, from whom he temporarily separated. Both women struggled to navigate everyday life under the same roof with Debbie.

Guerra had confided in Debbie about her miscarriage, and Colt said his mom’s reaction was mild in comparison to the devastating loss. Guerra and Colt eventually reconciled, and addressed their distance from Debbie on 90 Day: The Single Life's season 3 tell-all in 2022.

“I feel like my mother has always been more of a friend,” Colt said of their too-close-for-comfort relationship.

And Debbie later admitted, "I seem to make Colt upset every time he sees me, so it's probably better off that he disconnects from me."

Debbie and Colt reached a workable solution during a heart-to-heart conversation in which they agreed to take some space but mutually agreed they could reach out whenever necessary. The pair went their separate ways and tabled their relationship issues before Debbie moving to Canada.
