When you think of soap operas.. you probably think of the white sandy beaches of Summer Bay.. not the war torn streets of Afghanistan.

But that’s exactly where our next guest went to make soapies.

In 2009.. Trudi-Ann Tierney left behind a television career in Australia to start making soapies in Kabul.

She ended up becoming the head of drama for Afghanistan’s biggest broadcaster and helped create some of the country’s most popular shows.

Trudi has written a book about the incredible experiences.
