Truck destroyed by waterspout, driver thought he 'was in hell'

This is the terrifying moment an 18-wheel truck got completely demolished by a torandic waterspout that travelled ashore in the US.

The intense, swirling winds can be seen sweeping the truck from its side and back on to all 18-wheels on Sunshine Skyway Bridge near Tampa, Florida.

The truck driver Randall Leaver told ABC News the incident left him humbled, and thankful.

"All of a sudden I felt a gust of wind and I thought, 'Is this what I think it is?’” Leaver claimed.

“I’ve never been to Hell. I thought I was in Hell.”

Extraordinarily enough, Leaver walked away from the ghastly winds with only minor bumps and bruises.

“The first thing I did when I got home; I hugged my son,” he told media.

“God was definitely watching over me.”

Randall Leaver isn't the only truck driver who has remarkably cheated death.
