Amelia Vega Announces She's Pregnant With Baby No. 3 on Instagram

Amelia Vega and her husband, Boston Celtics basketball player Al Horford, kicked off the New Year with big news. In a sweet Instagram post on Jan. 7, the former Miss Universe announced that she is pregnant with her third child.

The Dominican beauty queen, 33, shared a family photo, which captured herself holding her daughter Alia, 1, while displaying a tray of freshly-baked cookies spelling out the message “Baby in the oven.” In the pic, she nestles close to her son Ean, 2, who’s being held in his dad’s arms.

So her followers didn’t overlook the cookie headline, she captioned the image: “Surprise! Happy to announced that our family keeps growing.”

On Dec. 24, the actress and model posted a beautiful family portrait, celebrating her sixth wedding anniversary to the Dominican basketball star. “I thank God for us because I don’t believe in coincidences but in God’s will. Thank you for being the man that you are, the best husband I could have chosen, an exemplary father. Thank you for being you! I’m so happy to see how each year you continue to grow in my eyes and in my heart. I adore you infinitely,” she wrote, adding: “Thank you for the most beautiful and valuable gift you could have given me in these years: our children.”

Vega, who is the niece of renowned Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra, spoke to People en Español about the joys of motherhood in March of last year. “When you are a mom, you only think of your baby’s well-being,” she said, adding that she had breastfed both of her children and is grateful that she’s gotten to devote so much time to them. “I like being the one that takes them to the pediatrician, that teaches them their first words,” she told the magazine.

Her parenting inspiration is her own mom, Patricia Polanco Alvarez, who’s also a former beauty queen. “Now that I understand all the sacrifices, all the intensity of the love she gave me,” she said, “I ask God that I can be a mother like her.”
