Ant Anstead Shares Look Inside Barn of 500-Year-Old Farmhouse He Just Purchased in Rural England (Exclusive)

In a photo shared exclusively with PEOPLE, the Celebrity IOU: Joyride host, 45, is seen working hard on a car in the historic barn that will soon double as his new workspace.
The British-born car expert, who has recently been spending time back in the U.K. where his girlfriend Renee Zellweger is filming the latest Bridget Jones, previously explained that the barn is where he plans to fix up some antique automobiles in order to fund the complete restoration of the 500-year-old farmhouse he bought in rural England for his parents.

Ant Anstead is using the barn as his workshop to fund the renovation of the historic farmhouse for his parentsAnstead first revealed he was working on the project in a video shared to his Instagram account on Wednesday, June 19.
“I’ve got some really exciting news because I’ve been secretly working on a brand-new television show,” he says in the clip. “Because I’ve gone and bought a 500-year-old farmhouse in rural England for my parents to move into.”
In the video, the barn can be seen peeking through in the background as he continues to explain the new series to his followers.
“Now it turns out that what I thought was going to be a very modern restoration of the house has turned into a nightmare. The rear end of the home is completely condemned. So, I’ve decided to do what I do best.”
The automotive expert reveals his solution is to use the “dusty old” barn as a workshop where he will “find, fix and flip a number of classic cars” to fund the renovation.
“Cars, I can do. Homes…” he says as he stares off into the distance. “Yeah.”
In the caption of the post, Anstead adds that the property is a “piece of British heritage” and that the profit he makes from his car repairs will “hopefully” pay for the restoration. He also notes that the show documenting it all, which has a working title of Ant Anstead: The Naked Mechanic, will be coming soon to Discovery+.

Renee Zellweger and Ant Anstead with his two older kidsWhile Anstead was born and raised in the United Kingdom, his primary residence is now in California where he shares a home with his award-winning actress girlfriend Renée Zellweger, 54.
His youngest son, Hudson, 4, is based in California where his mom and Anstead’s ex-wife, Christina Hall, also lives. Anstead also shares two older kids — daughter Amelie, 20, and son Archie, 17 — with his first wife Louise Storey. The older kids live in the U.K.

In April 2023, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Anstead and Zellweger had "found a house that they both love and are moving in together" in Southern California, inspiring Anstead to sell his beloved Temple House in Laguna Beach that same month.
One year later, the dad of three has temporarily relocated to his native London to be with the Judy actress while she films the fourth installment of the Bridget Jones’s Diary series, a source told PEOPLE in April.
"Ant is going over to the U.K. with Renée while she is filming later this year,” the source said. “Ant is excited to spend time with his older kiddos."
