A popular family event to celebrate the armed forces community is set to take place for another year.

The Telford Armed Forces Family Day will return to the Broadoaks Playing Field, Donnington, from 11:00 BST to 16:00 BST on 30 June.

Activities such as sports, crafts and live music, as well as food and drink vendors, would be available for all the family, Telford and Wrekin Council said.

The event is part of the national Armed Forces Day celebrations, with hundreds set to take place across the UK in the week beginning 24 June.

The family celebration will also include circus skills, a civil war re-enactment display, wheelchair basketball and a donkey petting area.

Paralympic gold medallist Mickey Bushell MBE will also be at the event with a challenge for visitors to compete in, a council spokesperson added.
