Literally.
Edebiri’s declaration that “100 million people will be watching” her inaugural SNL gig because it’s “following the Super Bowl” gets promptly fact-checked and dismissed by Mikey Day and Ego Nwodim. Similarly, her pronouncement that her show will be the first SNL in history “that will be live on Saturday night,” doesn’t make it past Molly Kearney’s BS detector.
Eventually, the newly-minted Emmy winner cops to layering her pep talk with falsehoods, but explains, “I just wanted to get you guys hyped, because this is my first time hosting.”
It’s only when Edebiri reminds them that Jennifer Lopez is the musical guest that the deflated SNL cast mates explode with enthusiasm.
Watch the clip and then hit the comments with an answer to this question: On a scale of 1-10, with “10” being an unequivocal “Yes, chef!” and “!” being a tepid “No, Chef!,” how excited are you about the Edebiri-led SNL?
