The Big Bang Theory casts Sheldon's brother
Fans of The Big Bang Theory have been waiting for Sheldon and Amy's wedding day for, well, ever, but the good news is that it's just around the corner.
And when there's a wedding on the horizon, there's the inevitable family, too.
So, as the show gears up towards Shamy's big day, it seems only natural that another one of Sheldon's family is introduced – and this time, it's his brother.
Big Bang bosses announced during a panel at yesterday's (March 21) PaleyFest that Sheldon's older brother is invited to the wedding and will be played by Jerry O'Connell (via Entertainment Weekly).

While an actor that's appeared in the likes of Piranha 3-D and Kangaroo Jack might seem like a left-field choice for the sibling of Sheldon Cooper, it's worth noting that Jerry is also Superman.
Fans of the DCEU's animated original movie arm will recognise Jerry's voice as Clark Kent in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Justice League vs Teen Titans and Justice League Dark.

It was previously teased that fans will get to see Sheldon and Amy tie the knot in season 11's finale, with a 12th season to follow, but it's uncertain how much more of Sheldon's life as a married man we'll be treated to beyond that.
Big Bang star Jim Parsons told Digital Spy recently that no final decisions had been made about the future of the show, but that 'anything is possible'.
"It's really getting into a very individual state, of how does everybody feel, and whatever. And that includes the writers, who we've not had some major discussion with yet.
"There hasn't been, like, a cast and producer discussion about the future of our show or whatever."
The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS in the US and E4 in the UK.
