Billie Eilish and Nat Wolff come to blows in dizzying 'Chihiro' music video: Watch

Billie Eilish and Nat Wolff are at each other’s throats in the singer’s latest music video. But beneath the onscreen drama, it’s all love.

Eilish released her self-directed music video for “Chihiro,” the second single off her third album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” on Thursday. The nearly five-and-a-half-minute clip opens with Eilish walking through a dimly lit hallway, closing various doors as the song’s techno-R&B groove softly pulses.

After racing up a flight of stairs, Eilish comes face to face with a man (Wolff) whose attention she is unable to get. Eilish chases Wolff down a hallway, and the two end up arguing briefly inside an empty room.

Eilish encounters Wolff a second time, and the two scuffle after Eilish pushes him. However, the fight quickly abates, and the pair ends up running together out of the building.

The “Lunch” singer is later seen walking alone down an empty street before heading into a grassy field, where Wolff chases her.

Wolff eventually tackles Eilish in the last few minutes of the video, and the two wrestle on the ground. After tiring themselves out, though, the pair stops fighting and stares at each other.

Following the release of the “Chihiro” video, Wolff took to social media on Thursday to praise Eilish for the “arresting” music video, calling the singer “my (favorite) artist and (favorite) human” in an Instagram post.

“Not only is she a genius singer and songwriter but also an amazing director and editor,” Wolff wrote alongside a clip of the video. “By take (three) of this running shot, both of our childhood asthmas were acting up.”

Eilish returned the admiration in her own Instagram post on Thursday, writing, “One of my favorite videos I’ve made (and) truly one of the greatest days of my life. Hahahaaaa Nat, love you so much. Thank you for being a part of this.”

Eilish’s latest studio effort “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” released May 17, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. All 10 of the alternative-pop album’s songs have since charted in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
