Billie Lourd Says Son Will Have 'Biggest Flex' When He Realizes 'Grandma Was Princess Leia' (Exclusive)

At just 3½ years old, Billie Lourd’s son is already a major Star Wars fan.

Chatting with PEOPLE about the collection of movie-inspired memorabilia she helped eBay curate in honor of Stars Ways Day on May 4th, Lourd also tells PEOPLE that her oldest child, Kingston, is obsessed with the galaxy far, far away.

“My son actually understands it now. He loves episode one, and we go and build lightsabers at Disneyland. He wears Star Wars sneakers. He wears Star Wars shirts. Actually, a lot of the shirts I bought on eBay were for him, so you know what? I don't need to make room in my dresser. I need to make room in his!” Lourd says with a laugh.

The Scream Queens alum, 31, who shares son Kingston and 13-month-old daughter Jackson Joanne with husband Austen Rydell, adds that having the movies essentially as a family heirloom is something she’s so grateful for.

“It’s so amazing getting to rewatch all the movies through his eyes. It's the ultimate, ultimate gift. I keep saying 'gift,' but it really is such a gift to have this,” she says of introducing her son to the films.

Carrie Fisher, who famously portrayed Princess Leia throughout the beloved franchise, died in 2016 at the age of 60. Kingston’s middle name, Fisher, is after his late grandmother.

Though he’ll never get to meet her, Lourd knows that — in a way — he will, especially as the bonafide Star Wars fan gets even that much older.

“It's like the ultimate home movie. I'm so lucky that I get to have these films to rewatch and to show my son, because even though he doesn't get to meet her, he gets to know a little piece of her,” she says. “His grandma was Princess Leia. The coolest, best flex of all time.”

As for why Star Wars has had such immense staying power since A New Hope debuted in 1977?

Lourd credits the fact that the story isn't just one she gets to pass down to her own family, but something that all Star Wars fans get to inherit.

“It's something that you can pass down through generations, like my mom did to me and like I'm doing to my kids. And I think that's why it's so special is because it really stands the test of time,” she says. “No matter if you're 80 or if you're three and a half or one and a half, like my son and daughter. It's so special and so cool, and I feel so hashtag blessed."
