Bizarre moment woman strips down to prove she isn't shoplifting

Witnesses said the woman was accused by security guards of trying to steak items.

A woman's bizarre stunt to prove she was not shoplifting has left others stunned.

She was filmed by shoppers unbuttoning her top after being stopped outside of a Costco store in Mexico City. Another lady — possibly a security guard — can be heard saying: "Take everything off. Come here."

The man filming the drama with his phone can be heard chuckling and asking: "What the hell?" Puzzled bystanders stood around watching as the strange event unfolded on Thursday.

According to local media, several witnesses said the woman was accused by security guards of trying to shoplift. She allegedly began undressing to prove she wasn't carrying any items she hadn't paid for.

The woman — now topless — allegedly ran away through the car park before she could be detained.

Woman kicked out of shopping centre over outfit

The incident occurred just days before a shopping centre was forced to issue an apology to an Aussie woman after she was allegedly kicked out for having her stomach exposed.

Madison Green said she was attempting to do some grocery shopping for her grandmother at Dalby Shoppingworld in Queensland earlier this week when a female security guard at a Woolworths store asked her to leave because of outfit.

The video appears to show the guard kicking the shopper out of the centre, claiming she needs to wear a shirt that covers her whole stomach "because that's the law". No such law exists.

A spokesperson for Dalby Shoppingworld has since apologised to the woman and said the security guard will no longer patrol the facility.
