Authorities say the body of a 53-year-old Iowa truck driver has been found five months after he disappeared just days before Thanksgiving.

Using dental records, Iowa's Office of the State Medical Examiner was able to identify a body discovered in Sac County on April 24 as belonging to David Schultz, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

"Schultz was located in a farm field in the 1900 block of Union Ave. in Sac County," the agency said on April 25. "Preliminary autopsy results show no signs of trauma or serious injury. Further autopsy test results are pending."

Officials noted they do not suspect foul play in his death.

Schultz was reported missing on Nov. 21, according to the Lake View Police Department and the Sac County Sheriff's Office. Police said Schultz, of Wall Lake, was last heard from earlier that morning.

The married father of twin boys was slated to deliver the pigs to a farm near Sac City when his semi-trailer truck was found that afternoon on northbound U.S. Highway 71, near its intersection with U.S. Highway 20, the Sioux City Journal reported.

Before a positive identification had been made, the Associated Press reported that David's wife, Sarah, was told that the person whose body was found was wearing boots that matched her husband's and that his keys were also found in the pants pocket.

He was such a good father,” Sarah told reporters on April 25, per the news agency. “It’s not fair.”

She went on to say that while she's "glad we know where he is now," there are still so many questions about what happened. "Things don't make sense," she added.
