Britney Spears, Sam Asghari settle divorce
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have settled their divorce, less than a year after the latter filed to end their 14-month union.
The “Stronger” singer, 42, filed a response to Asghari’s divorce petition and the former couple filed a stipulated judgement, obtained by TMZ. Finalization of their divorce is pending a judge’s approval, per the outlet.
Spears and the 29-year-old fitness trainer had a prenup in place when they wed in June 2022. Though Spears was paying his rent, according to TMZ, the model-actor will reportedly not receive any pay nor spousal support as a result of the agreement. The prenup is also said to include an “extensive confidentiality clause” that would preclude Asghari from chatting publicly about the relationship.
Last August, Asghari accused Spears of infidelity. He reportedly moved out of their home after a confrontation and quickly filed for divorce.
Both parties have since referred fondly to their relationship, with Spears dubbing Asghari “a gift from God” in her otherwise explosive memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which hit shelves in October. Asghari earlier this year regarded his time with Spears as “a blessing.”
The marriage was Spears’ third. She shares two sons with her first husband, Kevin Federline. Her second marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander was quickly annulled.
