Brooke Shields Admits Her Most Embarrassing Audition Story — and It Involves Farting: 'I Got the Job!'

The actress shared the gassy details of landing her first-ever movie on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen'

Brooke Shields's first movie gig was a gas!

The actress appeared alongside Elizabeth Hurley on the April 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where the trio played a round of "Read Between the Lies."

After announcer Paul said over a loudspeaker, "This person's absolute worst-ever audition involved her passing gas while she was dramatically pretending to be strangled," Shields, 58, confirmed the fact was about her.

"I got the job, by the way!" she said, laughing. "My first movie I ever was in! It was called Holy Terror. Yeah, [the title] wasn't just about the fart."

The gassy audition for Holy Terror wasn't the last time Shields faced a body-related snafu. In January, the actress and author shared the "huge mistake" she once made surrounding her iconic eyebrows.

“I tried dyeing them once, and it was a huge mistake, because they were so dark. I looked crazy," Shields told PEOPLE at the time.

Yet the experience didn't deter her from finding other solutions to her brow woes. “I'm open to all of it," she added.

Shields will next star in Mother of the Bride, a rom-com from Netflix. She plays Lana, a single mom who gets the surprise of her life at the destination wedding of her daughter Emma (Miranda Cosgrove) — who's marrying the son of Lana's former college sweetheart, Will (Benjamin Bratt), who broke her heart decades ago.

Aside from starring in the movie, Shields is also a producer — and gives a lot of credit to director Mark Waters, Netflix and the company's Director of Original Film, Christina Rogers.

"[Christina has] been the champion of really pushing and standing behind these stories for women over 40 to be in a rom-com that's not just all ... yes, we've got the focus on the young, beautiful, fresh love, and we want that, but she's not overlooking my demographic. And to have that wish fulfillment of another chance at love and all that," Shields recently told PEOPLE.

Mother of the Bride is on Netflix May 9.
