The actress is set to star in the previously-announced series Sometimes I Lie, which has now gone into development at Fox.

Based on Alice Feeney's novel of the same name, the series follows a woman named Amber Reynolds who wakes up on a hospital bed trapped inside her own body.

While she's able to hear everything that's going on around her, Amber wakes up unable to move, speak or open her eyes. She has no idea what's happened to her or how she got there, but as she lies still, the story jumps between her present, the recent past and her childhood.

Gellar is executive producing the series alongside Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman.

This isn't the only Fox project the Buffy actress has planned, however. She's also set to star in new dramedy Other People's Houses, which has been described as a cross between Big Little Lies and Catastrophe.

The new series, which hasn't yet been ordered, comes from the co-creators of her drama series Ringer, which was cancelled after one season back in 2012.

Gellar will be hoping that preferably both shows end up receiving orders, as she looks for her first regular primetime role since the 2013 CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones.
