Caroline Flack's boyfriend Lewis Burton has paid tribute to the 40-year-old, saying: "My heart is broken".
News that the Love Island presenter had passed away began circulating online on Saturday afternoon (15th February). Her family has confirmed the tragic news.
A statement by the family obtained by The Sun read: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.
“We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”
Lewis, who had been dating Caroline since last summer, has told of his heartbreak over the news. “My heart is broken we had something so special,” the 27-year-old wrote alongside a photograph of the couple.
“I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.
“I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud every day. I love you with all my heart.”
Caroline had been due to stand trial in March for allegedly assaulting Lewis last year. She had pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail, a condition of which stopped her having contact with Lewis.
Celebrities such as fellow Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore and Dermot O'Leary have been leading tributes to the star.
