Celebrity Big Brother is back, with a new series set to hit our screens after a five year break.

The show debuted in 2021 as a spin-off from the main Big Brother and has given viewers plenty of standout moments, like George Galloway pretending to be a cat, Gemma Collins kicking off over a task and Vanessa Feltz’s meltdown.

CBB has crowned more than 20 winners over the years, and while many were huge stars already, others have gone on to be massive since their stints in the reality show house.

Katie Price

Katie Price won the show in 2015, pipping Katie Hopkins to the post. Her life has certainly changed since her win – she was married to third husband Kieran Hayler at the time but they have since split and she’s gone on to have an on/off romance with Carl Woods. Now she's romancing Married At First Sight star JJ Slater.

The star has also branched out when it comes to her career, launching a podcast called The Katie Price Show and signing up to adults only platform OnlyFans. Price went on to be a panellist on Loose Women, although that ended a few years back, and she also landed her own show. Entitled Katie Price's Mucky Mansion, the programme saw the model turning her dilapidated Sussex pad into a gorgeous family home.

Chantelle Houghton

Chantelle Houghton was the only CBB winner who wasn’t a star when she entered the fly on the wall show. In a twist she was just a regular member of the public who had to convince the real celebs that she was in an imaginary girl band called Kandy Floss.

Her series, which aired in 2006, was a huge success and made Houghton a star. After she won, she got her own show called Chantelle: Living The Dream, released a book and worked as a model. She also returned to the house for Ultimate Big Brother.

She tied the knot with Ordinary Boys frontman Samuel Preston later in 2006, after they fell for each other in the house. However, they split less than a year later and in 2008 Houghton was quoted as saying in an interview that a month after they had tied the knot, Preston had told her: “I knew I didn't want to marry you on our wedding day.”

Houghton went on to have a baby with fellow former housemate Alex Reid, although they have since broken up.

Stephen Bear

Ex On The Beach star Stephen Bear won the reality TV show in 2016 and went on to rack up plenty of television appearances in shows including The Challenge, Just Tattoo Of Us, Eating With My Ex and Celebs Go Dating.

He was in the headlines in 2023 in a revenge porn case involving The Only Way Is Essex star Georgia Harrison. He went on to be sentenced to 21 months in jail after being convicted of sharing an intimate video of him and Harrison on OnlyFans.

Bear was released from prison in January this year after serving over 10 months of his sentence.

Rylan

Rylan got his first glimpse of fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2012, and he made a big enough splash that the following year he got a spot in the CBB house. He charmed everyone with his quick wit and banter and it was no surprise when he won.

Since then, his career has skyrocketed. Rylan went on to be a presenter on many shows – including spin off The Xtra Factor, This Morning and Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. He’s had his own series, like Up Late With Rylan and Babushka, and in 2018 joined BBC Radio 2. The star also hosted Strictly spin off It Takes Two and realised a lifelong dream when he got to be a presenter on the Eurovision Song Contest.

Rylan got married two years after CBB, tying the knot with Dan Neal in 2015. However, they went their separate ways in 2021.

Ulrika Jonsson

Ulrika Jonsson won in 2009, joking that it must have been “a fix” as her name was announced. “It was the weirdest experience of my entire life and I’ve had quite a weird life,” she told host Davina McCall during her exit interview.

The Gladiators star faced the boot several times but was always saved as she was a huge hit with viewers.

Since her stay in the house Jonsson has popped up on the odd reality show, like Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Celebs Go Dating.

But from the looks of her social media, she also seems to be embracing her home life with her family and beloved dogs.

Late Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding wrote in her book Hear Me Out that “Celebrity Big Brother was, for me, a disaster waiting to happen”. She was a housemate in 2017 and despite her comment, went down a storm with fans and was crowned the winner.

Just three years later the singer told fans that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Harding shared that it had spread, telling her followers on social media: “I am fighting as hard as I possibly can.”

Sadly, she lost her fight with the illness in September 2021 at the age of 39. Her mum Marie announced that she had passed away, saying her “beautiful” daughter was “a bright shining star”.

The rest of Girls Aloud penned moving tributes, with Nicola Roberts writing: “Electric girl, you made us. You gave it everything and still with a smile.”

Celebrity Big Brother starts on 4 March on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
