Chilling bumper sticker spotted on car allegedly involved in fatal pedestrian crash: 'Very disturbing'
A 'concerning' image has emerged in the wake of a crash that saw a 17-year-old Sydney driver arrested after a man in his 30s was killed.
A pedestrian has been killed after allegedly being struck by a teenage P-plate driver. Photos which have emerged from the scene report to show a "very disturbing" bumper sticker adorning the vehicle before it was taken away overnight.
Police say the 38-year-old died at the scene in Bexley in Sydney's south at 10.40pm on Tuesday, after allegedly being struck by a 17-year-old male driving a blue Ford sedan. The teen is alleged to have driven off after the crash before returning to the area, with police locating his vehicle parked on a nearby street.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Preddys Road and John Street, with photos from the scene showing the Ford Falcon badly damaged, with a smashed windscreen and dented bonnet.
A spokesperson for NSW Police said members of the public performed CPR on the pedestrian, however he was unable to be revived.
"Members of the public performed CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the 38-year-old man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified," they said.
"The Ford driver and sole occupant — a 17-year-old boy — sustained minor injuries. He was arrested and taken to St George Hospital for treatment and to undergo mandatory testing."
A crime scene has since been established while an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash. NSW Police confirmed to Yahoo News Australia that so far no charges have been laid. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
'Concerning' bumper sticker detail after pedestrian killed
In a "very disturbing" twist, it's since emerged that the teenager was allegedly sporting a black and white bumper sticker that reportedly read: "I drive like a c**t".
According to 2GB radio host Ben Fordham, the images were supplied to the station this morning by "one of our sources". He described them as "most concerning".
"The driver, a red P-plater, lives nearby. He's alleged to have left the crash scene and gone home before returning later on," Fordam said on air. "The images of the vehicle ... display a sticker that was on the back of the car. The sticker contains a word that I cannot say on radio. The sticker says I drive like a C-word."
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
