Even though we've had trailers, Blade Runner 2049 still feels pretty shrouded in secrecy, but its first TV spot has an intriguing detail.

We've seen Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista in the previous trailers sporting some nifty glasses, but the new look at the highly-anticipated sequel potentially confirms that his character Sapper is a replicant.

After a scene between Ryan Gosling's Officer K and Ana de Armas's Joi, we see Officer K being led through what looks to be a replicant factory, likely owned by Jared Leto's Neander Wallace.

And one of the replicant models certainly looks an awful lot like Bautista…

We'll have to wait until Blade Runner 2049 is finally released to know exactly if we're right, but Bautista has already been busy talking up the sequel.

"I think it's going to be – and this is hard to say because I know I'm going to get some grief for this – I think it's going to be better than the first film," he teased back in May.

"And I'm saying that because I think the script is better, it's deeper. I think it's a better story, I think it's told in a better way, and I think it just answers a lot of questions. It's going to be great."

Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas on October 6.
