Da'Vine Joy Randolph opted for an all-denim look for her debut at the 2024 Met Gala.

The actress, who won an Oscar in March for her performance in The Holdovers, attended the event on May 6 wearing a custom dress made by Gap.

According to Gap Inc., the outfit, which was crafted by creative director Zac Posen, pays tribute to the brand's 1969 denim and meets the Met Gala's theme — “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” with the dress code "The Garden of Time" — by drawing "inspiration from romanticism, nature and historic icons."

Randolph, 37, said in a statement shared by Gap, "With this Gap gown, I’ve fallen back in love with denim. I feel powerful. It makes me feel very feminine, but in a way that I can identify with — through strength, power and resilience."

The Only Murders in the Building star told Variety in March about her fashion preferences, saying, "I just like to have fun."

"And I just want people to know, 'Don’t limit yourself. Find what you’re into. Play. Don’t stay stuck with one thing.' You know why I love clothes so much? Because it’s connected to one’s personality and sense of self," she said.

"You don’t have to be as obsessive about it as I am, but I think it’s a good practice of self-love too, of like, 'What colors do I feel good in?' And, 'Oh, these are my favorite pair of jeans.' It’s taking a sense of pride in oneself. And I think that’s healthy and good for anybody."
