“Doubling Down with the Derricos' ”Deon and Karen Say They're 'Unified' in Parenting After Divorce (Exclusive)

Doubling Down with the Derricos’ Deon and Karen Derrico are "unified" in parenting their 14 children following their divorce.

“Together, we remain unified in the parenting of our 14 beautiful children — their well-being is our priority," the couple tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.

"We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the good of our family," they continue.

Deon and Karen — who got married in 2005 — are parents to Derrick, 13, 12-year-old twins Dallas and Denver, 10-year-old quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko and Dariz, 6-year-old Diez and Dior, and 4-year-old triplets Dawsyn, De'Aren and Dyver. (Oldest daughter Darian is 18 years old.)

Deon and Karen chronicle the challenges of parenting 14 children on their TLC series, which premiered in 2020.

The pair filed for divorce on June 4 and it became official two days later on June 6, when a judge signed off on the split, according to TMZ.

Deon and Karen are now splitting legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children, per legal documents obtained by the outlet. Deon will pay $1,166 in child support per month, and Karen will be responsible for paying the children’s medical insurance, TMZ reported.

Karen also plans to keep the last name Derrico as she didn’t request her maiden name be restored, and the judge approved it in the settlement.

On this season of the TLC series, “The Derricos search for a new house has been a forever process and is putting a strain on Deon and Karen’s marriage,” according to an official description.

The season 5 finale of Doubling Down with the Derricos will air on TLC on Tuesday, July 2, at 8 p.m. EST.
