“Doubling Down with the Derricos”' Karen Derrico Praises 'Best Father Ever' Deon Days After Divorce Bombshell

'Doubling Down with the Derricos' stars Deon Derrico and Karen DerricoKaren Derrico is praising her ex-husband's skills as a father days after finalizing their divorce.
On Father's Day, the Doubling Down with the Derricos star, 44, shared a video montage for her former spouse Deon Derrico on Instagram, which came just one day after the couple spoke out about their divorce in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.
"Happy Fathers Day to the best father any 14 children can ask for! @deonderrico," Karen wrote in the caption of the video, which featured a photo of the couple with one of their daughters, a shot of Deon asleep on a plane and a video of him. "Also, to all the great father’s out there! Happy Father’s Day and may your day be filled with love, joy and rest! 😊"
In the comments, Deon thanked his ex-wife for the tribute, writing, "Awwww thank you @karenederrico for this ❤️❤️❤️."
Deon shared his own post to mark the holiday, too, as he posed for a selfie with 13 of his 14 children, all of whom he shares with Karen. They are parents to Darian, 18, Derrick, 13, 12-year-old twins Dallas and Denver, 10-year-old quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko and Dariz, 6-year-old Diez and Dior, and 4-year-old triplets Dawsyn, De'Aren and Dyver.
"Happy Father’s Day to all of the great father’s [sic] Live, Love, and Laugh," he captioned the shot.
Karen and Deon, who wed in 2005 and chronicle the challenges of parenting 14 children on their TLC series, filed for divorce on June 4, according to TMZ. The divorce was finalized two days later, and they are confirmed to split legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children.
In a statement to PEOPLE following the news of their divorce, Karen and Deon said, “Together, we remain unified in the parenting of our 14 beautiful children — their well-being is our priority."
"We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the good of our family."
Season 5 of the family's TLC show, which premiered in 2020, is currently airing, and sees Karen and Deon juggling their 13 kids while also searching for a new house, which has been a "forever process and is putting a strain on Deon and Karen’s marriage," per an official synopsis.
