It looks like Downton Abbey movie fever has even hit Corfu, as ITV's The Durrells stars Callum Woodhouse and Milo Parker are interested in giving the comedy-drama series the big screen treatment too.

The series came to an end with its fourth and final season earlier this month, but when Callum and Milo, who play Leslie and Gerry Durrell respectively, dropped by Sunday Brunch to talk about the show ending, Callum admitted he'd like to see more from the family.

"We'd love a Christmas special or an Easter special," he told hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer today (May 26). "Downton Abbey's got the movie coming out, why can't we?"

He even entertained the idea of a Durrells musical too, adding: "Or the musical! Yeah, Danny [Mac] could be in it with us."

The Durrells series began in 2016, following Louisa Durrell (Keeley Hawes) and her family as they moved to Corfu in 1935, following the death of her husband a few years before. By series 4, the family's life on the island was being threatened by the approach of World War 2.

Unfortunately for Callum, his co-star Josh O'Connor, who plays Larry Durrell, thinks that now is the right time to end the show.

"I'm sure there are stories to be told but it just sort of feels like a really good time to give it some space now," Josh told Digital Spy recently.

"All of us are off doing different things and that's really exciting, and it's been a beautiful part of our lives, so who knows if we'll ever come back to it."

Of course, Josh is keeping pretty busy at the moment with his new role as Prince Charles in Netflix hit The Crown's third seasonso while he didn't rule out a sequel altogether, it looks like we may be in for a bit of a wait for any more from the Durrells.

The Durrells aired on ITV, while Sunday Brunch continues on Channel 4.
