Ed Sheeran performs for England football team

Ed Sheeran has treated the England football team to a private concert.
The 33-year-old singer was in the stands to watch the team's dramatic extra-time 2-1 win over Switzerland at Euro 2024 in Germany on Sunday (30.06.24), and on Monday (01.07.24), manager Gareth Southgate invited him along to the squad's light recovery session.
Video footage shared on social media saw players including captain Harry Kane and team standout Jude Bellingham watching on as Ed sang his track 'The A Team' at the Spa and Golf Resort Weimarer Land, where the team are staying.
Ed previously performed for England during Euro 2020, while Robbie Williams paid the side a visit during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 'Shape of You' star also previously singled out a 2021 barbecue, where he sang for the England side, as one of the best moments of his career so far.
Speaking to Peter Crouch on the 'Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros' programme, he said: “At the end of the night, we’re in a circle, all hands around.
"I mean for me, just as an English boy, being in the centre of the England team, it was really great.
“I’ve had amazing moments in my life, but I don’t think there’s many moments that will top that.”
Ahead of the start of the tournament, Prince William - who is the president of the Football Association (FA) - paid a visit to the squad at their St George's Park training camp in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, where he offered some advice from his youngest son.
William explained he'd asked his and wife Catherine, Princess of Wales' three children, Princes George, 10, and Louis, six, and nine-year-old Princess Charlotte if they had any advice for the squad.
He laughed as he said: “I was on the school run this morning with the children and I said: what shall I say to the England team, I’m seeing them today?
“The best bit of advice I got, to ask you, was to eat twice the amount you normally would eat.
“So I then had visions of you running around, massive great tummies and loads of stitches on the pitch.
“So I think maybe take my youngest’s advice with a pinch of salt, particularly around the physio team.”
