Err, Claudia Schiffer just accessorised a Versace gown with... her cat?
It takes a lot to upstage a supermodel on the red carpet, and especially when that supermodel is the one and only Claudia Schiffer. But against all odds, that's exactly what happened at the world premiere of upcoming film Argylle in London's Leicester Square yesterday – and the one responsible for stealing the limelight away from the iconic German beauty was none other than... Her cat.
No, we're not joking. In one of the most brilliant red carpet stunts we've seen in years, Claudia Schiffer attended the glamorous film premiere with her best feline friend in tow – a cat named Chip, that made its red carpet debut peeking out the window of a yellow-and-brown argyll print kitty carrier backpack that was slung over Claudia's shoulder.
And of course, Claudia dressed accordingly, wearing a *gorge* yellow and silver check, metal mesh gown by Versace that co-ordinated perfectly with her feline accessory...
Claudia's latest red carpet moment is giving a whole new meaning to the concept of "catwalk", and we're fully obsessed. If her Versace gown looks familiar, too, that's because it's almost identical to the one she wore on the actual catwalk for the Italian fashion house's Spring/Summer 2024 show finale in Milan (and that was later worn by Anne Hathaway too). Iconic, much?
But if you're still scratching your head as to why Claudia would bring her cat to a film premiere, then allow us to enlighten you – because it's not quite as random as you might think... The model's cat Chip is in fact one of the stars of Argylle, and the film itself was directed by Schiffer's husband Matthew Vaughn. So, really, it's only natural that the duo would want to give their pet its moment in the limelight – and the fact they managed to create a fab fashion moment at the same time is just the cherry on top. Can we get a meeeeow?
